Addison Mizner: Exotic Society Architect
When Addison Mizner arrived in Florida, he thought he was going to die. Instead, he brought forth his distinctive style of architecture, interior, and landscape design in Palm Beach.
Mizner then took his talents to Boca Raton and morphed from society architect to developer and city planner. For his efforts, Mizner would be acclaimed a design genius. Ultimately, he’d be ruined.
Ed Lamont is a Docent at Whitehall – the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach where he’s led over 2,500 Tours into Florida Gilded Age history. He speaks at Historical Societies, Florida Rotary Clubs, and Daughters of the American Revolution Chapters.
